Robin Lehner(40) Binghamton/Ottawa Senators

Binghamton Senators‘ 19-year old rookie netminder Robin Lehner(40) is the reason why the team is making a run at going deep in the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs.  Ever since he got the call to start game 5 vs. Manchester Monarchs in the “Atlantic” Division Semi-Final he has yet to lose a game in 5 starts (2 wins vs. Portland already).

Jeff Zatkoff(36) and Robin Lehner(40)

2nd year Manchester Monarchs‘ goaltender Jeff Zatkoff(36) exchanges a handshake with Binghamton Senators‘ rookie netminder Robin Lehner(40) at the AHL “Atlantic” Division Semi-Final series conclusion.

Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens: Game 7 @ the Garden

Bruins‘ goaltender Tim Thomas(30) is congratulated by the Montreal Canadiens players after Boston‘s 4-3 OT win in game 7 at the Garden.

Brayden Schenn(11) and Ryan Poltuny(22)

I would love to know what the SenatorsRyan Poltuny(22) says to Monarchs‘ 18-year old stud, Brayden Schenn(11) in the handshake line to conclude the series.

Poltuny had the game-winner in OT and 5 points in a wild goal scoring spree of a game 7 that was decided 6-5.

2010/2011 Manchester Monarchs

With game 7 of the AHL “Atlantic” Division Semi-Finals lost in OT, the Manchester Monarchs‘ 2010/2011 season reaches its conclusion. The players give their fans one final salute.

Last year they played in the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the eventual Calder Cup winner, Hershey Bears.

Brayden Schenn(11) Manchester Monarchs/LA Kings

LA Kings 2010 1st round draft pick (#5 overall) Brayden Schenn(11) was back in Manchester for the Calder Cup run. He spent 7 games in the 2010/2011 season with the Monarchs before being returned to his junior club, Brandon Wheat Kings.

In 5 games he picked up 1 goal and 3 assists. Definitely not too shabby for an 18-year old. He looked a bit bigger and definitely more poised than he did earlier this year with the team.

Justin Azevedo(15) Manchester Monarchs

Monarchs 3rd year center Justin Azevedo(15) easily wins the unsung hero award for his play in the “Atlantic” Division Semi-Final round vs. Binghamton.

He had 10 points (3 goals 7 assists) in 7 games and was effective in all three zones on the ice.

Binghamton Senators celebrate game 6 2OT win

Geoff Kinrade(7) is mugged by his teammates after scoring the game 6 winning goal in double overtime at the Verizon Wireless to give the Senators the 3-3 series tie.

the number 7 on Kinrade‘s helmet is the only indication of who Erik Condra(7), Patrick Wiercioch(17), Jim O’Brien(19) and Kaspars Daugavins(26) have surrounded.

Richard Clune(17) Manchester Monarchs

Monarchs‘ resident hothead Richard Clune(17) is restrained from a potential “situation” with a Senators‘ player in game 6. Big surprise there.

Geoff Kinrade(7) Binghamton Senators

Undrafted 2nd year Binghamton Senators defenseman Geoff Kinrade(7) got the game 6 winning goal in double overtime at the Verizon on Friday night forcing a series deciding game 7.

The goal was his first ever in the playoffs.
